Meet the Chef – AN INTRODUCTION TO LIAM COOPER
At 15 years of age, Liam Cooper trained as an apprentice chef at Northcote Manor under the watchful eye of Nigel Haworth. He learned all sections of a professional kitchen before relocating to London to work under world famous chefs such as Gordon Ramsay, Marco Pierre White and Heston Blumenthal at the tender age of 18.
He became a Head Chef in his own right at just 25 years old, where he quickly made a name for himself, cooking and creating his own food. Such was his success that Fay Mesclar cited him in the London Evening Standards “one to watch” after tasting his food at the restaurant Jimmy’s, which he ran in Chelsea.
Throughout his career, Liam has received many accolades including
Best Business Lunch in the City of London, 2008
Winner of 3 AA Rosettes, 2008
Best Restaurant in Bristol, 2012
UK Wedding Caterer of the Year, 2018.
Liam finally, returned to his Lancastrian roots in 2015 and subsequently opened two businesses centred around his philosophy on how he now likes to cook.
And now, we are delighted that he has launched his latest venture ‘Food by Liam Cooper’ in association with Blackburn Golf Club, working to the concept of cooking initially a tasty sports club menu using only the finest produce, allowing the flavour to do all the talking from his carefully sourced ingredients.
Not only that; Liam has begun hosting a series of theme nights featuring flavours and cusines from across the globe, and we are anticipating the imminent launch of a ‘Fine Dining Supper Club’ delivering Michelin Star level food.
And for the future, his own signature ‘Five Course Tasting Night’, sensory and nostalgic dining experiences and a trip into to the world of ‘Molecular Gastronomy’. You will be amazed!
You don’t need to be a Member of Blackburn Golf Club in order to experience Liam’s food; keep an eye on social media for upcoming dining nights or just call the Club 01254 51122.
